A PICNIC IN THE 1950s

JUDITH SACCHERO

Interviewed April 1992 by Gail O'Hanlon. p.12.

GO'H Did your family ever go on picnics or anything like that?

SACCHERO Yes.  With other families we'd go on picnics at Easter, when there was a holiday, and meet other people.  I'm just trying to remember exactly barbecue-type picnics.  I think they were more picnics with bread rolls and meat, cold meat and salad and boiled eggs and a drink and maybe watermelon or something like that.
