Plantation Forestry continued

While the development of plantations stagnated during the Second World War, the 1950s saw a renewed interest in the commercial exploitation of pine. Between 1950 and 1954 about 6,500 acres (2,639 hectares) were planted using the techniques developed during the 1930s.
