Did You Know

  1. Many cultures around the world have a version of ‘Mamu’. It is a mythical creature that is used by adults or older children to scare small children and encourage them to behave. There is generally no specific appearance to these creatures which allows children to imagine what features they think it may have. In Spanish speaking countries they refer to it as ‘El Coco’ and it is hairy (like a coconut). In Brazil ‘Cuca’ is a humanoid alligator.
