Iron Ore continued

In the 1980s and 1990s further substantial mine developments allowed the major existing producers to expand production while extending the life of existing mines. For example the Yarrie ore body was developed in order to extend the life of the Goldsworthy operations. In September 1994, Portman Mining began exporting iron ore from the re-opened Koolyanobbing mine, from which ore is railed to Esperance for shipment.
