Wool - from boom to bust

After the Second World War, primary industry, particularly wool production became Western Australia's premier revenue raiser and ushered in a period of unparalleled prosperity for the State. The following sequence of images shows shearing at Cranmore Park in 1947 as the nation's economy began to ride on the sheep's back.
