Dairy continued

Condensed milk was manufactured for the first time in Western Australia in 1930, while the first icecream was made in Perth in 1937.
By 1934 Western Australia recorded its first butter surplus, setting a pattern of growth which would establish the dairy industry as an important exporter.
By 1939 there were seventeen butter and five cheese factories in Western Australia.
A technologically sophisticated industry had been established which by 1995 supported a herd size of 126,000 milk cows.
