Servants at work

In the early part of the century servants were widely employed by wealthier Western Australians. After the First World War the numbers of servants declined.
Many Aboriginal missions saw their role as training the indigenous population to be servants - the sort of colonial mentality which the British Empire had brought to its African and Asian colonies.
