Football continued

Brought to Western Australia in the late nineteenth century by Victorian-born settlers, early costumes featured long trousers, jumpers, and caps.
Throughout the twentieth century, football costumes became less restrictive, taking on the form of shorts, jumpers, long socks and boots seen today.  The uniform of an early women's football team, shown above, did not give the body as much freedom as those of contemporary male uniforms.

While the styles and colours of jumpers may have changed the form of footballing uniforms has remained the same.
